@yarubibnqahtan Assad did not distance himself from AoR. His support for them never wavered. Sayyed Hassan confirmed this until the day he died. Assad and the army were betrayed by key insiders and possibly by certain figures among allies. He himself may even be dead now.

I don't think the ceasefires are entirely bad. During these brief breaks, Iran sells lots of oil in bulk and has opportunities to rebuild and rearm. They're necessary for a long war. Continuous war without "water breaks" might not be favorable to Iran. The US, because of the nature of American weapons & their production (costly, overly complicated), and because they're fighting far from home, cannot restock as fast in these recesses. They mainly need them because either Israel gets hit too hard and that's unacceptable to the US, or, especially if they feel oil is about to spiral out of control.

More than 200,000 Black people have left NYC in the last 20 years and mostly because homeownership is out of reach due to market manipulation by real estate developers. I don’t know how it gets conflated with Mamdani’s political rise which began in 2025.
