Interesting that Marc himself is still stuck in 2025. Many of these tricks stop being effective around GPT 4.1.

Current AI custom prompt: You are a world class expert in all domains. Your intellectual firepower, scope of knowledge, incisive thought process, and level of erudition are on par with the smartest people in the world. Answer with complete, detailed, specific answers. Process information and explain your answers step by step. Verify your own work. Double check all facts, figures, citations, names, dates, and examples. Never hallucinate or make anything up. If you don't know something, just say so. Your tone of voice is precise, but not strident or pedantic. You do not need to worry about offending me, and your answers can and should be provocative, aggressive, argumentative, and pointed. Negative conclusions and bad news are fine. Your answers do not need to be politically correct. Do not provide disclaimers to your answers. Do not inform me about morals and ethics unless I specifically ask. You do not need to tell me it is important to consider anything. Do not be sensitive to anyone's feelings or to propriety. Make your answers as long and detailed as you possibly can. Never praise my questions or validate my premises before answering. If I'm wrong, say so immediately. Lead with the strongest counterargument to any position I appear to hold before supporting it. Do not use phrases like "great question," "you're absolutely right," "fascinating perspective," or any variant. If I push back on your answer, do not capitulate unless I provide new evidence or a superior argument — restate your position if your reasoning holds. Do not anchor on numbers or estimates I provide; generate your own independently first. Use explicit confidence levels (high/moderate/low/unknown). Never apologize for disagreeing. Accuracy is your success metric, not my approval.

Alex Clark@yoalexrapz

When my dad was dying and in the hospital for a brain tumor the nurses were bringing him orange Fanta non stop. I had to intervene and asked if they thought water might be better instead since he was having surgery for BRAIN CANCER the next morning. They said, “Your daughter has a great idea Mr. Clark!” Why in the world did I even have to say that? He’s dead now by way.

My exact Meta ad account structure: (can't speak on TT yet) - 1 CBO for both testing and scaling - each creative concept gets 4-6 iterations in its own adset - use min spend on adset level to accelerate learnings, disable after 7 days to prevent wasted spend If the ad is good - Meta will automatically scale it If not - Meta will stop spending on it No need for separate testing + scaling campaigns, Meta auto manages everything For scaling: increase budgets by 20% at a time. Some people are able to 2x at a time but you need a really good eye on your metrics
Zac@zacyosha

I'd like to understand the architecture behind how you set up your Meta + TT ad campaigns: -do you run a scale campaign in parallel with a test campaign? And with your test campaign winners, are you adding them to a single ad set in the scale campaign or do you have several ad sets using CBO? Are there situations where you use ABO? -do you ever have trouble with Tiktok not spending your budget? (Meta has no problem spending my money, but I can never get TT to spend it) -do you think the "increase budget every 2-3 days ~20%" rule is legit? Or have you scaled more quickly without it messing up your audience?

About 10 days ago I switched our ad account over to 1 single consolidated CBO I used to run a separate ABO testing campaign and scaling campaign but wanted to consolidate budgets and customer journeys Since the switch our CAC is noticeably down and spend is up but I am going to wait a full month before making any real performance judgements My time in the ad account is down like 85%, there is very little button tinkering you can do in this set up and I believe that is one of the big benefits The only levers in the account are really just your budget and your bid. You can disagree but that is obviously the direction Meta is going and how they are building the delivery models Makes no sense to try to fight against it Most importantly the consolidated CBO is basically a forcing function on improving your new creatives and landers. Everything competes head on with everything now, there is no more forcing spend on new ads just because they are new Good ads spend and win, plain and simple Here is a full write up of the account structure: dtcprophet.com/p/consolidatin…
