@thecockburn The only circumstances where this could be deemed acceptable is if it is time-limited and the revenue raised from the advertising banner is ring-fenced to help fund the restoration or maintenance of the listed building.

@bencooper I wasn't speculating on the origin of the blaze, but it was quite obvious from the available footage and accounts from first responders I spoke to last night that lithium batteries cooking off was a major accelerant of the fire after it appeared to be initially under control.

A lithium fuelled fire is a statement of the obvious, which was quickly established by speaking to first responders on the scene last night and which has been clearly documented by open source footage. Given the shop has been destroyed, there isn't much left to investigate there.

@kris321uk @GSofA Listen until the end. My solution is for the state to acquire the ABC site from 'OBARCS' and commission a Rennie Mackintosh exhibition venue of appropriate scale to augment the restored Glasgow School of Art. This could then form the basis for a UNESCO World Heritage Site bid.

On Tuesday I attended a planning hearing, where I voiced my opposition against the development of student flats on the former O2 ABC site because of the impact it will have on @GSofA restoration.
I called for the government and agents at all levels to step up and work coherently together for the public good.
