"Because I may be able to do something about it. I must." If you need to kick start your compassion this fantastic new film starring Sir Anthony Hopkins is a must see. The film tells the true story behind the rescue of hundreds of children from the Nazis through the KinderTransport. I was honoured to accompany my friend John Fieldsend who was one of those rescued by Sir Nicholas Wanton. Here's my report from the @BFI London Film Festival Gala screening and a chance to hear some of John's moving story. @warnerbros @WarnerBrosUK @LucindaCoxon @CompInPolitics @AlfDubs #OneLife the movie is in cinemas on 1st of January.

How much did you spend on stamps last year? The number of letters sent in the UK has fallen 70% in 20 years. On average, UK adults now spend just £6.50 a year on stamps. A first-class stamp today costs £1.70, up from 64p ten years ago, and is about to go up to £1.80.

@krishk I think Iranians are largely in favour, especially the ones executed recently.

49% of British adults are opposed to Donald Trump’s strikes on Iran, while 28% support them. 50% oppose the decision to allow the US to strike Iranian missile bases from UK military bases; 32% support it. YouGov/Daily Mirror What do you think?

I'm trying out Wispr Flow, and so far I'm really impressed. It can literally listen to my words, and transcribe them into useful text . Give it a try, and if you like it, we both get some free access. wisprflow.ai/r?KRISH355

@krishk Genuinely - thank you for being specific. Possibly overboard on the adjectives there. I think generosity often has to do with claiming others' motivations. Atheistic/secular liberalism has done immense harm but we are not claiming that those who've supported it are intentional.

@EadrictheWild I am very pleased you are building houses - I genuinely applaud you on that as it is much needed . There are so many people in the social housing queue - your houses will help. Thank you .

I mean she will be a useful idiot. It's also a phrase . Why because liberism is incompatible with Islam. The Green party maybe the first national policial islamic party in the UK. Women will have no place in it. Western values will have no place. She is being used as a face . Why yes in my back yard? Because I’m for building new houses. Why the anonymity? Because 12,000 people get locked up in the uk over freedom of speech . We no longer have it here.

*I can’t and won’t accept this victory tonight, without calling out politicians and divisive figures who constantly scapegoat and blame our communities for all the problems in society. My Muslim friends and neighbours are just like me – human." Hannah Spencer MP

@krishk I barely tweet or post anything. I comment on very little so it's always going to be selective. I'm also a nobody. "To whom much is given..." But I think I work hard to be generous to 'enemies'. e.g. thecritic.co.uk/could-esther-r…

@krishk I like you @krishk but do you see how partisan your output has become? The choices of what you do/don't speak about. The amount of grace and benefit of the doubt that you show to people in different movements/parties.

What do you make of this? Such a loss for Labour. How much had this to do with the blocking of Andy Burnham? The Conservatives in 4th outgunned by Reform. But what happened to the Lib Dems? They have over fifteen times as many MPs as the Greens, yet are making no impact here?

@EadrictheWild Why the insult? Your profile says YIMBY Why the anonymity? Your profile says Christian. What does the Bible have to say about calling someone a fool or idiot?

Inclusive spaces in every school is a good start. Impressed by @Georgia_Gould on @BBCr4today this morning: Clear, compassionate and reasonable. As a parent of children with SEND I appreciate this is an important first step and I look forward to hearing more of the details.

Desperately sad to hear that pro-democracy campaigner Jimmy Lai has been sentenced to 20 years in prison in Hong Kong. At 78, this is an effective life sentence. Very pleased the UK government is extending the BNO visa system.
