The complaints are reasonable and I understand them, being an Italian fan who quite literally had to learn English to access Undertale. I just don't like how people are acting as if the only missing translation is the Spanish one. Do they think every European speaks English???

@autismpill I have so much empathy for latam people, cause of course it is true that they face so much racism on the daily. But I feel like making it seem like this whole translation thing is racially motivated or exclusionist is INSANE since the game has only two official languages😭

Truthfully, i feel like no gringo can actually empathize with how being ignored completely and having to force yourself to learn a whole new language to engage in media feels like. Demanding spanish translation to Toby Fox feels like the bare minimum.

He talks about translation as if translators were just bilingual people saying words and not actual professionals who spend years getting a degree to be able to do their job. Translation leads exist for a reason, they’re the bridge between the client and the translators-

While I think my art should be enjoyed by everyone, I won't put my own perfectionism aside just to put out something I feel is half-baked for a good fraction of the people who experience it.

I find languages and cultural exchange so important as well, but we have to understand that it's not something that should take priority over the art or artist itself

And as already stated, Toby is indeed still looking for ways to make it work without it stunting his developing

And if an artist chooses to go about it a certain way, they don't deserve to be insulted.
