I genuinely don't understand why so many Undertale fans from Latin America are crying for a translation in ESP/PT if they have already played the game, know english, and obviously won't buy the game a 2nd time just to play it again in their native language.

He talks about translation as if translators were just bilingual people saying words and not actual professionals who spend years getting a degree to be able to do their job. Translation leads exist for a reason, they’re the bridge between the client and the translators-

While I think my art should be enjoyed by everyone, I won't put my own perfectionism aside just to put out something I feel is half-baked for a good fraction of the people who experience it.

@thevoidopens I don't know if someone with his resources should be relying on unpaid fan labor instead of just paying professionals. Devs with not even a fraction of the revenue have done far more to let their games reach a worldwide audience.

It doesn't have to be official. It doesn't have to be the same. Would I love to be able to experience the original versions, or an official translation? Of course I would, but that takes time and patience.
All of this being said, be cordial.

I had initally played it out of curiosity. (Take that however you want.) But reading the story, getting immersed in the world, I started to genuinely feel for the characters, the people, the places, everything.
I started to actually love the game.

No, I don't speak Portuguese, and mi Español es muy malo.
Now I understand the desire for translations into someone's native language! But maybe there's a better way to ask than telling me an English-speaking character is actually a Japanese woman who speaks only Portuguese.

Once upon a time I had someone tell me to write a song for Reaper Knight from Shovel Knight "and remember, he is a Japanese woman that speaks only Portuguese!"
I was also told to delete the Cagney Carnation video and remake it because "he doesn't speak English, only Portuguese"

Toby has a bit of a perfectionist mindset, especially on official things. It's why the chapters are taking so long, and he does NOT want to delay them even longer.
