@Inside1Buffalo @BuffaloSabres @nocotweets Yea he put the roster together but the players were not confident in him.. He was known for being difficult to work with from other GM's and agents.

@kroe51 @BuffaloSabres @nocotweets Time will tell whether firing GMKA was a good move.
He did build this roster.
And, after 9 years of going in the wrong direction, he did rebuild the Sabres in just 5 years.

Y’all know I love me some Brock Purdy but there is not a world that exists where he is a first round pick in a redraft scenario that doesn’t include hindsight scouting
The draft process is highly focused on physical traits which Purdy doesn’t necessarily have any elite attributes in which significantly contributes to why he wouldn’t be a 1st round pick
What makes Purdy a legitimate NFL QB are the things we don’t see and are extremely hard to scout and project: the intangibles
He is an elite processor, an elite gamer, elite leader, an elite worker and these things don’t show up in combine testing or pro days unless you are highly trained to pick up on them or are able to sit directly with the player but even then, a lot of evaluators aren’t in tune with that aspect of scouting
The person is the hardest aspect to scout and always will be and Purdy exemplifies why scouting isn’t an exact science
Scouting is so heavy on physical tools and traits because they can be measured and compared and in a physical game of course you want the most physically imposing players, but how do you measure heart?
How do you measure being down 24-7 at half in the NFC Championship game and have the competitive drive and mental fortitude to come back and win that game?
The answer is, you can’t really. It’s an intrinsic quality that no stop watch or measuring tape can quantify. It’s something only adversity can reveal
So would and should Brock Purdy be a 1st round pick if we were to do it all over again, no.
But that doesn’t mean anything really because as we have seen from the draft, sometimes all you need is an opportunity because even the best evaluators get it wrong consistently
And that’s why you will see me go to bat for the long shots because when you find a gem, don’t let them slip through the cracks because a measurable clouds your judgement because this person is just a phenomenal ball player with a skillset that can translate
Tape is the most important — stats/measurables supplement tape evals — Identifying the person is the game changer

I like Brock Purdy, but you don't spend a 1st round pick on Brock Purdy. That's the whole point of Brock Purdy.
