I haven't been around here much lately, and I think I'll continue that trend. Twitter not letting me share a link to my account at the other site just confirms that decision. You can find me over there: @sitek@fediscience.org. Come say hi!

@fMRI_today Obvious next Q: Can we do this with humans? They did .2x.2x1 mm at 9.4T with 40x54 stimulus presentations—can we do, say, 0.5 mm iso at 7T+ with 1000 trials? Their animals were anesthetized—is motion going to be the biggest challenge?

Stunningly well done study. Direct neuronal activity imaging with MRI. They nailed it. Practical limits but all manageable. Added feature of visualizing depolarization AND hyperpolarization too. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Pittsburgh contingent of the @SoundBrainLab is on the way to #SNL2022! Get ready for some speech-in-noise and subcortical auditory chatter over the next few days. But for now, trains 🚂 🚞 🚆

@FangChengYeh @FuyixueWang Thanks! Here's pruning 5x (L) and 10x (R) – certainly reduced, but the main putamen vs. caudate effect is still evident

@krsitek @FuyixueWang Interesting work! At the first figure, Could you also show the tractogram after pressing [Edit][Prunning] 10 times or more?

These results nicely fit with the classic non-human primate tracer literature, where primary auditory cortex preferentially connects to caudal dorsal striatum, and caudate head receives most of its inputs from anterior superior temporal cortex: (6/7)
