What my Twitter family has done over the last 24 hours is nothing short of incredible. I would say it’s the K State family, but it’s not just K-State. Many Jayhawks have also reached out and helped anyway they can as well as provided words of encouragement. Within a few hours the goal our friends had set was crushed. Then the next one. Then the next one. If I can be vulnerable, this surgery had been doing a number on me and my mental health since October when we were originally supposed to do the first procedure. I didn’t see how we were going to do it. We were still in debt from Brody‘s last surgery and now we were going to add four more. The travel expenses, medical bills, My Business, I didn’t know how we were going to do it. I had given it to God, trusting that he would provide, but not knowing that he would use the community on social media that I have been able to be a part of for however many years I am on now. I am overwhelmed at the response and the generosity from people who know my family personally, but also even more people that I have never met. Your help allows us to move forward with peace, knowing that we will be OK. All of it will go towards medical bills and travel. If not for this one, for future ones. With that aspect taken care of, we are able to focus solely on our most important job: being there for Brody physically and emotionally. Thank you, All. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. For all that you all did that you did not have to do. I am overwhelmed and eternally grateful.

@ksuwildkat @united Been there done that. Only to finally be told at 11pm there would be no more flights and would start again tomorrow. Meanwhile all hotel vouchers were gone and had to sleep on the floor in Denver

Dear @united, I get that some weather things are out of your control but taking us right up to “boarding soon” and then delaying another 4 hours seems avoidable. We are 8 hours delayed at this point. We could have stayed at the hotel had we been told that.

@KingJoel_3 Remember how excited @NijelPack24 was at the Tang intro presser - only to enter the portal 7 days later? Even if he talked to them - doubt he knows who even wants to stay honestly.

The fact that he said he has not spoken with any one that could come back despite him trying to is very telling. Not that I think anyone from this last years team should be back regardless it doesn’t seem like they have any interest to begin with.

Interesting. I would venture to guess that Ayers and Johnson are close to sure things then, possibly Haase too for analytics. Beyond that, would prefer to see him fill remaining holes with a few new names. We'll see.

This is why all the praises for his eye for talent matters A LOT. In an era of NIL and high roster turnover - you can’t just throw money because a player is ranked high. If you don’t know how to use him in your system and have an “eye” for that - you are wasting it.

I’m going to share this once. Some friends offered to do this for us. No one is under any obligation. This time my family in going through something we’ve never been through. We’ve never had Brody need four surgeries in three months. We’ve never spent over two months away from home like we have to this year. We’ve never had to max out my wife’s PTO for Brody’s medical needs by July. We’ve never needed me to be out of my practice for 6 weeks to help care for my son because he is now a big boy that need two people to lift him in/out of his wheelchair, etc. We’ve never been in this position. My ego pushed back against this for a long time. I don’t like asking for help. I don’t like feeling like we aren’t able to handle it. I hate all of it.
