Aujourd'hui on y est pour la cinquième fois. Dis-moi que cette fois c'est différent. J'attends.

I’m curious why Anti Mormons don’t disqualify Peter for denying Christ 3 times. If this was a story about Joseph Smith in some odd 2nd hand journal that’s been collecting dust in some guys basement it would be immediately disqualifying for a prophet.

So we found a problem in the Sing! hymnal this morning. Verse 2 on “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” is different between the pew hymnal and the spiral bound the musicians use. They were both printed in 2025, so how did that happen! (We prefer, “Here I raise mine Ebenezer…”)

Joseph Smith was killed in a shootout at the Carthage, Illinois jail on June 27, 1844. Why was the "prophet" locked up? The Nauvoo Expositor, a newspaper started by several former followers who had been excommunicated for opposing polygamy, was about to publish damning evidence about Joseph Smith, including his multiple wives. They alleged he had married at least eight wives of other men. Smith was the mayor of Nauvoo, so he ordered the town marshall to destroy the printing press, which he did and severely damaged the building. Smith, along with his brother and several followers, was arrested for inciting a riot. He was also accused of treason, with a likely charge to follow. While incarcerated, a follower smuggled a pistol into the jail. An attempt was made to break him out, and in the ensuing gunfight, Smith wounded at least three men before he was killed. This is the man the LDS church says was called by Jesus Christ to restore His church!
