@pernilleripp I love this book. Waber illustrates different kinds of courage-everyday courage and awesome kinds of courage.

@pernilleripp My superintendent did not allow independent reading. She said it was a waste of instructional time. Guess what my students were doing every time she came to visit my classroom!

And no, I don’t work at Target, but I’m the kind of person people just talk to, ask for help etc 😆 it must be a teacher-vibe thing 🤷‍♀️

Turns out Valentine’s (kids) cards are sold out. A dad was frantically searching the aisles, says to me “my daughter’s going to be so sad!” I point him to the craft aisle & say, perfect, you can help her cut paper hearts & decorate! The biggest smile spread over his face. 💕🥰

@FletcherRalph What a smile. So sorry for your loss. Such wise words. I remember reading these aloud to my students many times. ❤️

Cursive Skeletons are back!! They’re dancing, dabbing, hat-tipping, rapping, trick-or-treating, and bringing joy to our classroom! 💀🎨✍️🦴🧡#dmseagles #usdlearns #ArtsEd

@ktadelman @Sporkfighter1 @AdrienneBranden Omg I am so sorry. How long had you taught? What grades? Covid did me in and basically ruined me / also education imho has become the opposite of everything I was taught long ago . Pedagogícal nightmare!

@Sporkfighter1 @AdrienneBranden Same. I had to retire COVID-19 did me in both physically/mentally. Not to mention the politically divided school. I was fully aware I wasn’t ok I thought I might die ( no exaggeration ) and I was very healthy until covid. I resigned spring break and knew my life depended on it

is popcorn reading an engagement strategy or a mechanism to police/control how students engage with text?

@FletcherRalph And since retiring in October 2020, I must say that reading Marshfield Dreams with my 6th graders is something that I miss the most.

@FletcherRalph You can rest assured that you have accomplished just that. Over the years, your books have inspired my students to write stories that enable them, for the first time in their lives, to see themselves as writers.

Yesterday I took some of my Advisory students on a hike at Quicksilver. So great to finally connect with them outside of Zoom and to take in all this beauty together! Ms. Brown and a couple of parents joined in too! #dmseagles #usdlearns
