@DrSuneelDhand @HarmeetKDhillon Best of the best! Sadly, too many of those who would need approve her nomination know they could/should wind up in prison if she was really allowed to do her job.

Australia was handed one of the greatest starting positions of any country in history Massive mineral wealth. Abundant energy. World-class beaches. Amazing climate. No fault lines... no earthquakes or tsunamis If you gave a 12-year-old this setup in a civilisation-building game, they'd build a paradise Instead, we got decades of useless politicians on both sides of the aisle who couldn't run a sausage sizzle at Bunnings without a $4 billion feasibility study and a royal commission Australia isn't unlucky. It's grossly mismanaged

Think it would help morale if there was some evidence of ground action by Iranian & Kurd patriots. Not reckless to cost lives but something showing there is a phase two ready to unroll. The air campaign has been powerful but many are anxious to see some indication that a ground operation is in the works, not just whatever limited operation the Marines may undertake. Air campaigns don't seem to usually win wars alone. Maybe this time it will cause the regime to fold.

Those demanding more time for U.S. and Israeli forces to destroy Iran’s war-making and repression machinery should welcome the media reporting. It feeds into the regime’s delusion that it is winning. It reduces pressure to compromise. And it buys time until the regime realizes how much of Iran’s military & repression capacity has been destroyed.

Depends which America shows up after the air campaign ends. Will it be the America that truly wants to help an ancient civilization recover from a tyrannical theocracy & then get the hell out to let them figure things out, knowing in the long run they will never forget out help when it comes to commerce & trade, etc., or the Deep State America that is interested really in oil, playing forever Cold War games with the Russians & Chinese & telling the Iranians what they can and cannot do? This is not Iraq or Afghan, two backward societies where it was all about oil and keeping them away from playing footsie with Russia, which is why we supported Osama Bin Laden, not a smart move for the victims of 9-11. Maybe our last chance to show we are not just like old England & France, trying to control that entire area for economic gain at the expense of the people living there.

If they are smart they arm the Iranian opposition and just let them run a ground offensive with warthog support. Regime will fall in a few days. But I already think that’s the plan.

Military courts may be in our future. Worth getting familiar with Ex Parte Milligan (1866) (easily able to bring up) which still seems to be the controlling decision outlining when military courts can be used in civilian cases. High bar but not insurmountable. May be many twists & turns before we get there but wld not be surprised if it happens one day.

The Bar Association won't like me stating the obvious, but this is the inevitable conclusion if the Courts don't make a massive corrective turn in the very near future. We're about to see lynchings and local tribal protection racket gangs come back out of sheer necessity.

As someone fairly new to horseracing and a very casual small-time bettor, wonder if, like football & baseball which seem to have expanded far past the available talent pool (hell, why not if there are enough fans willing to support through all the revenue streams mediocrity in many cities) horseracing may need a period of consolidation, especially with all the technology available that could make it possible & enjoyable to fans outside of local track locations. Some towns may lose tax revenue and some jobs but local gov'ts will undoubtedly find ways to make up the loss through new taxes (lol). Of course there are now so many easy options for causal bettors besides horseracing. Lot of challenges.

The priority may have to be for Iranian patriots to seize control of the political centers which can turn the missile cities into isolated islands. Ground troops can then gradually take control of the missile bases. Some missiles will continue to be fired even if pressure is maintained from the air.

IRAN: MISSILE CITIES According to intelligence estimates, Iran has 27 missile cities dug deep underground. Israelis and Americans constantly attack the entrances to these missile cities, knowing that it is almost impossible to destroy the complexes themselves. In some cases, satellite images show that the Iranians manage to reopen the bombed access points within just 48 hours, using engineering equipment deployed to the area. A good example is the missile city of Yazd, discussed yesterday, which has been intensively attacked by both US and Israeli air forces since the beginning of the war. This missile city is located deep under Granite rock mountain, making the task of hitting the complex extremely difficult. @EliAfriatISR

@SpencerGuard Are there commandos on the ground and what are they doing? Can there still be many sites left for the air forces at this point? What are the linchpins holding the regime together that the inevitable ground troops (Kurdish, Iranian ???) must seize?

Was not sure which America wld show up-the ideal we dream about that goes in to Iran, helps overthrow a tyrannical regime& then gets the hell out & lets the Iranians sort things out, knowing they hv all the political divisions like everybody else & may in the short run not always please Washington. Yes, we shld be compensated for the help we provided. Fear now we will see Iran as just another place for NATO missiles aimed at Russia, a cash cow for U.S. companies looking for contracts and just another outpost to continue the cold war. Without knowing much about the CIA involvement in the 1950's which may hv eventually led to the current religious regime, is the U.S. just going to repeat the 1950's all over again? This plus the recent picture of the Crown Prince eagerly shaking hands with Zelensky makes me fear all the sacrifices of the average Iranian and the achievements of the Allied militaries will go to waste in the not-too-distant future.

The scale, speed and depth of the US-Israeli penetration of Iran’s security apparatus - foreign and domestic - is, to my mind, without precedent in the modern era. I can think of no parallel. This indicates two things: First, there is no meaningful part of that apparatus they have not penetrated. Second, Iranians are not merely alienated from the regime, but actively, and at scale, are helping to target it - especially at the street level: checkpoint and basij locations etc. There are numerous variables at play, and the war’s outcome - especially that US-Is will fulfill their (hazy) objectives - remains in doubt, to say the least. But one thing is already clear: when the shooting stops, the Islamic Republic will not be what it was - which must be factored into analysis.

One side has been waging a war of attrition, "win by a thousand cuts." Simply wear down the enemy by attacking on this front, then that front, until exhaustion wears the enemy down. One way to counter that strategy is to go for the jugular. Foot soldiers are a dime a dozen in this arena but that may not apply to the leadership or their critical supply hubs. If nothing else, don't leave two bricks on top of each other so that it will take at least a few years to recover.

Nothing lasts forever, not the Universe nor the mighty British Empire. They were done in 1915, kept alive more or less in an American ICU ever since. They were saved from becoming a German colony only to become a wholly owned subsidiary of Saudi Arabia. The ocean swells from the fall of such a mighty empire are still being felt today. Luckily still occasional flashes of genius in the arts and sciences. Hope they come back one day but seems like they will have to get in line behind the Greeks, Romans, French, Spanish and others.

Our taste buds likely developed for a lifespan of approx. 35 years & hard physical labor every day. Not sure if that is good for anyone wishing to live till 75 or longer & a far more sedentary existence. Like most things, the answer is likely somewhere in the middle but will monitor what the best docs that I respect recommend.

I've just discovered that people trim the fat off their steak before eating it. The fat. They remove it. They pay for it. They cook it. They look at it. And then they take it off with a knife and leave it on the side of the plate. That fat is where the vitamins are. That fat is the flavour. That fat is the reason every traditional cuisine on Earth prized the fatty cuts above the lean ones. The marbling. The belly. The short rib. Poor people got the lean cuts. Rich people got the fat ones. That was how it worked. For thousands of years. Because everyone understood instinctively that fat was the point. Now people voluntarily recreate medieval poverty on their own plate and call it healthy eating. Remarkable.

If the decision had been made to spare the crew, take them as POWs & sink the ship, seems like the sub could have remained hidden and a message radioed from Allied HQ to the captain giving him 30 minutes to abandon ship. The captain cld hv been told the strike wld come from aircraft which has the ship in its sights. If roles were reversed, very likely the capt wd have shot the survivors without mercy but we are not them (nothing to do with subhuman, its their ideology which permits massacring every man, woman, child who does not submit.)

She wants a nuclear submarine, whose entire job is stealth and silence, to warn a guided missile frigate with ASW capabilities before launching torpedoes so they can deploy lifeboats, not fight back. Think about how diabolically stupid one has to be to say such a thing. A submarine survives by not revealing its position. The moment it “warns” the target, it gives away the ONLY advantage it has. To even think that these are the people shaping public discourse makes me feel fucking depressed.
@

The crew were left to be rescued by the Sri Lankan navy and were not even given a warning to be able to launch life boats. I guess when you think some people are subhuman you don’t even give them a chance to live.

No,no,no. Issue is not whether the ship shld be sunk or the crew allowed to return to the war theatre but if the captain cld hv been given lets say 20 minutes to abandon ship with understanding the crew wld be held as prisoners of war till end of conflict. Ship was apparently hundreds of miles from war theatre, by itself. We may find out fr survivors why the captain did not stay in Indian port. Lots I don't know how it wld work but in WW2 there were cases where the crew was spared & the ship sunk. Just raising the issue. Hv little symp for the regime supporters but sparing the crew in this case might just be the right thing & also cd hv an impact on the soldiers who are wavering at this point what to do.

@ktf2072 @DsgrntSub So your approach to war is to let the enemy know you have them in your sights and give them time to get away so no one gets hurt? I have seen some very naive takes before but yours has to be one of the most naive I’ve ever seen. Bless your heart.

I am not a naval warfare expert. However, the “experts” that are upset about the American sub sinking an Iranian naval combat ship, are absolute scum of the earth. Especially Americans or supposed allies. This is warfare. Not a boxing match, football game, or some other sporting match. It wasn’t “fair” for Iran to use IED’s. It wasn’t “fair” to use suicide bombers. Especially children. You know what also wasn’t fair? It wasn’t “fair” for our supposed leadership to handicap our ground forces with patently stupid ROE’s. When American lives are on the line I don’t want fair. I want overwhelming force and technological supremacy so that fanatics, fascists, dictators, communists, and anyone else who thinks to harm Americans instead has the images of us killing, destroying, and sinking our enemies burned into their brain.

RFK Jr.'s biggest battle may still lie ahead. Its all so mysterious but once again a Kennedy has been placed in the front lines of this global battle between the forces of life and death. Gina Corano said in her talk at a TR rally in Oct/2024 that some people are born to be warriors. She welcomes that role. Not sure if RFK Jr. welcomes that role or he accepts the role that fate or whomever has placed him in.

I fear the question of attacking Iran is nearing a Constitutional break point. Congress must weigh in, and at a minimum the President must outline his plans and goals. I want the Iranian regime gone too. But we have a President, not a king. He needs to respect the Constitution.
