when i was younger, i was very insecure. i did this kind of thing too. over time you learn that it is critical to be truthful and not misleading about every single thing you do. i had to learn this lesson the hard way, but boy, have i internalized it. UNDERSELL yourself.

@kvntmlecs @shvllwebvgvn Meh, it’s not about “need” but more about incentives. Society is objectively better off with smart people working on hard scientific problems. The (difficult) goal is to create a system in which smart people want to become scientists instead of quant traders.
