It’s in my experience that the toughest people with the best sense of humor often experience the most debilitating forms of depression.
Dark humor arises from dark circumstances. Humor is often the best medication to dispel forms of sadness. Comedic relief exists for a reason.
The hardest thing to wrap your head around is when nothing has really gone wrong. You haven’t faced some ridiculously large obstacle that’s thwarted you in your growth. Instead, depression is often a culmination of things that really don’t matter that much.
Everything hits at once, it comes in like a storm that couldn’t exactly be predicted. Though the signs of a blowup were there. The weather network didn’t exactly notify you.
Sometimes the only way out is to laugh your way through it

Relationships often fail to launch. They start strong, gain speed on the runway, but something goes wrong: a hesitation, a mechanical error. The pilot loses momentum, and the plane stays stuck on the ground.
You’ll spend years overthinking every time you were stuck on the runway. What if that plane was meant to not just take off, but to land? What if that was my final flight? Your final destination?
In reality, some planes are meant to stay grounded. Some lessons are intended to be learned before take off. They save us from the burden of taking a flight headed nowhere

There is evolutionary basis for women being wired different. Women were quite literally wired to pair bond with stupid emotional creatures (ie babies), as a result, we attach emotionally to dumb things and people.
While this evolution was intended to soothe crying infants, women are having less babies and as a result started pair bonding with a different type of emotionally inept creature (emotionally unavailable men)
Which explains why so many of us accidentally end up nurturing grown men who act like them
