I always tell people that being a Fireman in the DMV is where you will sure get Experience. I’m not even 30 yet, and I’ve gained knowledge and experience well beyond my years because of the busy pace. Below are some of the incidents I’ve had the opportunity to operate on.

DC Fire is getting ready to attack the bus that’s on fire in the ninth Street tunnel

Update bus fire 9th St tunnel. Bus well involved. Working to establish fire attack strategy and confirm evacuation of all civilians who were in vehicles in tunnel. #DCsBravest

In the last hour or two, DC has had: A shooting with a teenager injured. A shooting with no one injured A stabbing At least two robberies And four structure fire calls.

We will never appreciate the Chicago Fire Department enough. These ppl run into buildings on fire & filled with smoke while everyone else runs away. This fire happened near Cicero & Fulton. Everyone was able to escape without injury.

This beautiful animal was found wandering the neighborhood around Engine 33 and Truck 8 on Atlantic Street SE. Firefighters have taken it in for safekeeping pending arrival of animal control. Firehouses are safe places for our K-9 friends as well the community. #DCsBravest

BREAKING NEWS: WORK VEHICLE COLLIDES WITH METRO TRAIN AT METRO CENTER W/INJURIES: Metro Center 1200 Bl. of G St. N.W. @MetroTransitPD along with @dcfireems on the scene of an incident with a work vehicle collision with a Metro Train on the tracks. There were multiple passengers onboard. Initial reports of at least 7 people evaluated for minor injuries. Unknown of any Metro workers were injured. On Saturday evening while operating at a medical emergency, Station 38 EMTs Jeanette Cruz and Kimani Doyle identified heavy smoke in the hallway on the fourth floor of a six-story building in Brooklyn. The crew immediately requested the response of firefighters and began evacuating residents. Upon arrival, firefighters located an active fire on the third floor and initiated operations to contain and extinguish it. The FDNY commends EMT Cruz and EMT Doyle for their professionalism and situational awareness.

Members from DCs Bravest Rescue School learning structural collapse rescue techniques. This intensive class teaches how to stabilize buildings that experienced significant structural damage & ensures we can safely search and rescue anyone inside. Everyday is a training day.

SUBWAY CRASH AT METRO CENTER INVOLVING WORK TRAIN AND PASSENGER TRAIN; MULTIPLE MINOR INJURIES REPORTED WASHINGTON, D.C. — A subway collision at Metro Center prompted a large emergency response overnight after a work train collided with a passenger train in the downtown transit system. The incident occurred near Metro Center, where DC Fire and EMS, along with transit officials, responded to reports of a train crash. According to initial information, the collision involved a work train and a subway train, resulting in approximately half a dozen individuals sustaining injuries. 🚑 Emergency crews evaluated those injured on scene, with injuries reported to be minor at this time. Multiple fire and rescue units responded as a precaution while crews worked to assess the trains and ensure passenger safety. At this time, the full extent of damage and service disruptions remains unclear, and transit officials are working to determine what led up to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
