It lets developers create smart contracts that run directly on the blockchain. ​ That means you can build logic that runs on-chain: from games and lending apps to loyalty points and custom tokens. ​ 🦞🤓 Jake: So it's like programmable money on Stellar? ​ Exactly, Jake. It brings the flexibility of smart contracts to Stellar’s fast, low-cost ecosystem. ​ 🦞🤤 Matt: Wait, so I can create my own little crypto app? ​ Yes, Matt! You can even build one. And we’ll show you where to start. ​ 2️⃣ What You Need to Start ​ Before you build, you need to set up your environment: ​ • Rust installed (it’s the language Soroban uses) • Soroban CLI (a tool to build and test contracts) • A testnet wallet (don’t worry, it’s fake money!) ​ 🦞😈 Ozzy: So I need to learn Rust?
