this is just your reminder that crowdfunding is dehumanizing and difficult. people in your life look at you differently, strangers judge you harshly, and all this while your world is falling apart. i don’t wish it on anyone.. but you are ONE wrong thing away from needing +

The first time you start a research lab, there’s no manual. So I made one. A practical toolkit for postdocs and early-career faculty launching their first lab: hiring, startup planning, collaborations, and building a sustainable research program. zenodo.org/records/188835…

I am a high school chemistry teacher. For years, I encountered students who did not know their multiplication tables and it interfered with their ability to understand chemistry. This year, I decided to take matters into my own hands. ⬇️

This whole conversation just reminded me of something. Someone tweeted that the reviews on TemuNG aren’t detailed enough, and it made sense immediately. I rely heavily on detailed reviews on TemuUK and SheinUK before I buy anything. I read everything. Long reviews, pictures, specific complaints. And most times, I get exactly what I expected. But ask me when I’ve ever gone back to drop that same level of detailed criticism, especially when it’s negative. Because once it’s not positive, it starts to feel like you’re doing too much. Like you’re tearing down someone’s business. Like you’re being wicked instead of helpful. So we keep quiet, or we say “it’s okay” and move on. Which is funny, because this is exactly why people get defensive when criticism comes their way. We’ve decided that any negative feedback must be an attack, not information. So when people point out gaps, it’s suddenly a problem. Not because the feedback is invalid, but because we don’t know how to receive it without taking it personally.

What distinguishes a 'good' sport policy from a mere sport policy? And why is this quality so essential? A good policy must reflect the collective hopes and aspirations of the people it represents, even as their individual needs, circumstances, and desired outcomes vary.
