How corrupt is corrupt care? RCMP raiding Sam Mraiche's company is certainly in the "something's coming" realm.

Danielle Smith can jet off to Saudi Arabia in the middle of a teachers’ strike on a secret, foreign-funded private plane, but calls programs for disabled Albertans and seniors “overly generous.” That tells you everything.

While her government used the notwithstanding clause against striking teachers, Danielle Smith was accepting private jets and luxury hotel stays from the Saudi government. We pushed for stronger ethics rules with our No More Skyboxes bill, but the UCP voted it down. Now we see why. The entitlement is staggering.

She didn't disclose this free flight from the Saudis for months. It would be better to be up-front, announce it before-hand, or to let taxpayers pay. I would, generally, prefer that taxpayers pay and politicians explain why it was necessary.
