A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to conduct my first sampling event with @A_WhiteShark for my individual PhD project off of Cape Cod. We were lucky to be sampling within a time frame where a humpback carcass was found being scavenged by a group of white sharks. 1/

I’m gonna say it again, in case you’ve heard nonsense. Humpback whales are getting killed much like how white tailed deer get killed. Lots of them + traffic = they get hit. Wind farms have *nothing* to do with it. It makes the same amount of sense as rock music killing deer.

White sharks have historically always been found off Maine. August 10, 1960, 63 years ago, Harry Goodridge harpooned a 12' white shark off Rockport that had just eaten his pet harbor seal Basil. After towing it to shore, he found Basil in 3 pieces inside the shark.
