Delighted to announce that I’ve recently joined the team at @chromaui (maintainers of @storybookjs) as a DX Community Engineer! What? Why? 🧵...

@jon_neal I just learned this myself! The community there chased Dorsey away a while ago, he’s left the board and has no financial stake. (Must be signed in to view this post, sorry.) bsky.app/profile/did:pl…

To the folks who are mid-migration to butterfly land: Is that the service run by the same fellow who got us here? If so, I’m concerned; what’s the move for? Is the move more of an indictment of this than an endorsement of that? Or is there a write up I could grok?

Excited to take a closer look at this. E2E tests have been the bane of my life. My only concern with this context is I’ve never found @storybookjs great at page level testing (as opposed to small components) so I would still need a solution there. But this still looks great!

@MetalHaze @storybookjs Nope! The visual tests part requires a Chromatic account, which has both free and paid plans to match your usage. But Storybook Test itself, which lets you run a variety of test types on your components, will always be free, just like all of Storybook.

@storybookjs This is only if you pay for Chromatic, right?

@tigawanna @storybookjs Join the early access program and you'll gain access to an onboarding & overview video I made! We'll definitely record something higher production once the feature is more solid.

@JoshWComeau Get some others to test with the same phone model and iOS version — if it is one off, wouldn’t worry about it.

@storybookjs @Netlify Thanks again for your patience! We are delighted to support the project and offer High Performance Builds. This should address the out of memory issues, and significantly speed up build time ⚡ In case this doesn't fix the problem, please let me know, my DMs are open 👐🏻

@Netlify hey team, we're trying to run a Next 14 app with TurboRepo and can't get the site to build on the platform. Any help?

@kylegach @kylegach By the way, if you want to use Test runner on React Native, you can currently use it on the web with an add-on, but are you considering supporting native base?

@kosuke_upd We went with subpath imports because it's a Node standard that's supported by a wide set of tools, including Webpack & Vite. But, we're also working with the Vitest team to see if we can bring more Vitest-style mocking to SB, too.

@kylegach Hi, thanks for the reply! I saw this docs. storybook.js.org/docs/writing-s… The configuration for mocking a module looked complicated. Especially the “Subpath imports” section. I thought it would be easier for me to understand if I could mock modules like Jest or Vitest.

@storybookjs This is neat. How about when you want a module to be mocked mocked in one story but not another?
