Two major shootings from yesterday are making the news. One was in Sydney, Australia, which has not had a mass shooting on this level in 30 years. 11 people were killed. One was at Brown University in the USA, which hasn't had a mass shooting in... two weeks. 12 people were shot. There have been 389 mass shootings in the USA this year. Today is the anniversary of the Sandy Hook massacre. The Sydney shooter was heroically stopped by a Muslim fruit shop owner named Ahmed al Ahmed (video below). The Brown shooter is a white male, possibly in his 30s, who was arrested after a manhunt involving hundreds of officers over at least 10 hours of searching. So tell me why all the "centrist" pundits and news shows are all focusing on one thing: the religion of the Sydney shooter.

i spoke to someone today who pronounced "gist" with a hard G and I don't know how to feel. i once had a client from overseas who pronounced "Gisborne" as "Jizz-bin" which I enjoyed immensely. And still use that.
