Due to the sheer number of Republicans and limited number of Democrats in the governor's race (so far, there is a very good chance that 2 Democrats advance to the final four. There is even a chance it could be three. Here is why. In 2022, Republicans @GovDunleavy and Charlie Pierce got a combined 88,992 votes. Democrat Les Gara and independent Bill Walker got a combined 86,771 votes. If 12 Republicans (6-8 actually running campaigns) are competing for around 90,000 votes and only 2 or 3 Democrats are competing for a bit under that, you can see how 2 Democrats could easily advance to the top 4.
