What happened in Edinburgh is exactly why so many of us have been sounding the alarm for years. Anti-Muslim hatred doesn't emerge from nowhere. It grows in an environment where hate and prejudice is normalised, rewarded and amplified. Enough. Absolutely enough. Muslims should not have to live with the constant message that they are suspects in their own country, outsiders in their own communities, or targets for someone else's political project.
