Sometimes I wish I could meet myself from someone else’s point of view. Sit across from me. Feel my energy the way other people do. See what I’m like without the inside commentary. A lot of people want that, whether they admit it or not. We move through the world thinking we know ourselves, but we only know the version from the inside. We rarely experience the atmosphere we create around us. Your energy is the sum of your thoughts. Not the words you post. Not the persona you perform. Your actual thoughts. Sit somewhere quiet for ten minutes and just let your mind run. Don’t judge anything. Don’t fix anything. Don’t try to spin it into something positive. Just observe. Watch what your mind defaults to. Is it criticism? Anxiety? Gratitude? Resentment? Curiosity? Somewhere in those ten minutes, you’ll feel it. That’s your energy. That’s what people are walking into when they interact with you. Most of us don’t need to “find ourselves.” We need to sit still long enough to notice who’s already there.
