The most San Francisco experience ever: seeing a tech exec on a one-wheel chasing after his autonomous vehicle yelling for it to stop. The car can't hear you Steve!

@ShaanVP Yep, the talent is amazing. Revelo.com is the biggest platform for US companies to hire Latam engineers, and also owns the biggest job boards in the region. DM me if you want a guide on how to hire best in the region

@asanwal @AcquiredFM answered this question and it took about 4 hours to explain, but they got to basically the same conclusion - its pretty close to a perfect business

@NoJesuitTricks Going from Austin to Miami then NY feels like three countries. There are massively different cultures within the US.

The fact that every child on earth is now in love with Bluey is going to have an interesting impact on Australia in 20 years time when those kids start travelling

@paulg I'm sure that just trying to maintain a positive relationship with their dad as they grow makes it worth all the effort, whether it influences them or not

The Latam financial system is crazy - my Brazilian credit card had an annual interest rate of 300% on late payments. A weird but cool side-effect is that it birthed great fintechs that trained excellent software engineers, who now work for world class fintechs all over the world

@zachweinberg I'd worry that it would be too powerful an incentive for kids to follow the 'safe-school-approved' route. Too many adults stay in law, banking, etc. because it is too hard to walk away from the salary. It would be sad if kids lost their entrepreneurial interests for an extra $100

95% of OpenAI employees threaten to quit in support of @sama . I'm pretty sure most people couldn't get 95% of their thanksgiving table to say something nice about them.

Housing affordability is a massive issue almost everywhere. Thank god remote work has helped some be more flexible on where they can live. Imagine how bad this would be if all tech workers were still forced to live in NY and San Francisco.

@amasad I used to live in the US and then returned - this data reflects my experience accurately. The US feels shockingly richer than it was only a relatively short period ago.

We are all communicating on a messaging platform for less than $20/month across 3 time zones. As Arthur C. Clarke said, “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic” Well, remote work feels like magic to me. Check out: bit.ly/46xsmHV

Remote work feels like magic. If you explained remote work to people in the 1800s, they probably would say it was magic! Think about this. I have a team of developers I’ve never met in person working for clients that I’ve never met in person.

Clients won’t take you seriously, perspective employees won’t take you seriously. Even your friends, your families, your old colleagues don't. Because why would they? You have nothing. It takes years before you can build up anything of value to anybody.

Entrepreneurship is not glamorous People think starting a business is glamorous. It’s not. I remember sitting in a junior analyst's office for 45 minutes while I waited for someone who was really late for a sales meeting.
