NYSPHSAA Class AA Semifinal (VI) North Tonawanda 18 (IV) Horseheads 5 End q1 HVCC is a new destination for all players on both teams. @ladyjackshoops holds the advantage in sheer talent level, physical tools, and athleticism. And the @Section6GirlsBB are the ones that look more comfortable & settled in, so that’s bad news for Horseheads. NT going zone at the start, extending on guards & letting Jakayla Brown handle interior affairs, and HHDS looks afraid to be in her presence, let alone attack her. If they can’t find any balance in play, it’ll be a long game. @LillyDay2028 6 early pts for NT capped by this, putting back her own miss at the horn ⬇️

North Tonawanda 47 Horseheads 19 End q3 I’ve mentioned @jak_aylaab in each of the previous game posts. Here she is catching & finishing off the BLOB ⬇️ two-way impact and up to 13. HHDS really got up into ballhandlers in q3, playing hard, aggressive defensively. Helped some at that end. But they just can’t score. Much of it has to do with NT - too tall, long, athletic. But they’re missing the good looks too. Never found the balance in zone offense, and jumpers way short. Bad day to have a bad day offensively

North Tonawanda 57 Horseheads 35 Final Intriguing Class AA semifinal coming in, and NT made sure there was no doubt to be had. The @Section6GirlsBB power made good on game 1 of its Troy trip & controlled things in all ways from the outset to extend their stay to Sunday’s state championship 🎟️ @AnnabelleDay_3 (@UBwomenshoops) led balanced @ladyjackshoops with 15 points including her 2000th 🎉, @jak_aylaab & @LillyDay2028 joined her in double figures with 13 & 10 respectively. Sammie Bonnell led a young Horseheads team that’ll more than likely be back in this position down the road with 11. Game 3 ✔️

After 3 quarters, NT leads Schroeder 44-39. NT opened the stanza with back to back triples to stretch the lead to 10, Warriors respond with a 10-0 run to tie the game. NT with another pair of triples to close from both Day's.

NYSPHSAA Class AA Regional Final (VI) North Tonawanda 17 (V) Webster Schroeder 11 End q1 This is… way too easy for @AnnabelleDay_3. The @ladyjackshoops standout & @UBwomenshoops signee with all sorts of room off the BLOB and dials it up 🎯 Schroeder packing it in, but they’ve all given up more rim attempts than they’d like between BLOBs, ball movement, and ORBs. If not for NT’s occasional indecisiveness, it could’ve been a 25 point quarter in my eyes

North Tonawanda 62 Webster Schroeder 48 Final Competitive for the duration & a two-possession game with 3 minutes left - then NT turned up the pressure once more & delivered the knockout blow. A 10-1 game-closing spurt put the Class AA Far West Regional to bed and @Section6GirlsBB rep NT, who’s had this on the goal sheet the whole way, books its trip to HVCC for state championship weekend 🎟️ @AnnabelleDay_3 (@UBwomenshoops) went for 24, 18 of them in the 2nd half, to lead four @ladyjackshoops players in double figures. Section V champ @Schroedergbball, who staked its claim as a team that’ll be playing in March again for the next few years, saw three in double digits with Kylie Clement (@ostatewbb) leading with 16. Game 1 ✔️

Final: North Tonawanda defeats Webster Schroeder 62-48. Lady Jacks use good poise down the strecth to see this one out late after a game effort from Schroeder. Annabelle Day caught fire in the 2nd half, pouring in 18 (24 total). Experience shows through as NT gets to states.
