I didn’t want to wade into this discussion but the truth is you can tell when a lawyer has undergone pupilage. Especially when it was in a good firm. It just shows in the quality of work. The impact of having experienced seniors and bosses around to review your work is unquantifiable. As a young lawyer I required a LOT of correction and help from my bosses. I once gave learned silk a process ( I thought I finished work ), he took one look at it, SIGHED and said I should give our HOC to look at . He didn’t even know where to start from🤣🤣🤣. I have now worked with juniors and the amount of guidance & correction that goes into their work. I can’t even explain. I wouldn’t go as far as making pupilage compulsory but it is for the lawyers own good. Younger lawyers and law students may be outraged, but these things must be experienced to be understood.
