The UOITFA is sending solidarity to the Waterloo community. This attack is an escalation of the hate targeted at trans, queer and gender-diverse people by right-wing groups and this hate goes against all that Universities stand for as places of equity and social justice.

We must work together across our campuses to ensure Universities are safe for our trans, queer and gender diverse community members and the professors who challenge transphobia, homophobia, racism and misogyny through their teaching and research.

@jeremy_bradbury @KirkwoodLab @brad_easton Also not specifically related to this, but in general I find the idea of a 'labour shortage' laughable. Isn't it really a 'wage shortage'. I can't help but think a livable wage and decent benefits would solve a lot of these 'labour shortages'...but that's a much broader concern.

@jeremy_bradbury @KirkwoodLab @brad_easton A 'sticky campus' needs many places open longer hours. Catering to both early risers/night owls is likely an expensive challenge, but that's what it's going to take if the university wants a truly sticky campus.

I was sad to see the #OntarioTech Hive Cafe close. I regularly went there and it was usually busy. The problem I had was not knowing if it would be open...8:30am closed...3pm closed. It's hard to build customer loyalty when hours aren't even posted! bit.ly/3jMa7eD
