Inner-City SDC Outage Update Date: 12 April 2026 Time: 18:30 *Sebenza Substation Planned Maintenance:* The maintenance work has been completed and the power supply has been restored. The affected areas included: Bruma, Bezuidenhout Valley, Bertrams, Cyrildene, Kensington, Judith's Paarl, Lorentzville, Observatory and surrounding areas. The interruption was necessary to do essential maintenance work on our network which is part of our program of constantly striving to provide a better service. #CityPowerUpdates #MidrandSDC New Road Substation (Halfway Gardens distributor): Due to unforeseen circumstances, the initial ETR of 19h00 has been revised. A new ETR will be communicated in subsequent updates. The appointed contractor has managed to source a generator. Although the generator is on site, the team is sourcing the connection materials before installation can get underway. This generator will provide a temporary supply until repairs are completed/a replacement mini substation becomes available. This outage is affecting customers in Halfway Gardens and tripped on Monday, 03 November. It is due to double faults on the same circuit. At present, up to 95% of the power supply has been restored, with the remaining 5% affecting only Midrand High School. We shall keep affected customers posted on developments and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
