@ladonnaemobile_ Al decir de los "conocedores del Dios", al menos. Que el auténtico estado de unión divina se presenta cuando el hombre "se abandona", no como medio para obtener algo, sino porque sabe que ningún ego puede alcanzar la divinidad por su propio esfuerzo o acumulación de conocimiento.

Supongo que es solo otro ejemplo de lo rápido que puede pasar el tiempo. A todos nos pasa, vemos poco a poco cómo nuestros héroes se marchitan y se desvanecen. Natural, esperado, pero nunca resulta fácil.

I am gutted. Robert Duvall I will miss you brother. I took this photo of Bobby on his back porch after a lovely meal prepared by his wife Luciana at their ranch in Virginia. That whole day is engraved in my memory. Luciana cooked the beef Argentina style and we sat for hours talking. We talked about the film we made with Billy Bob Thornton, Jayne Mansfield’s Car. Bobby called Billy Bob “the redneck Orson Welles” and he meant it lovingly. We talked horses, dogs, Clemson football, dancing the tango and Marlon Brando. At one point he told me to go find the letter Marlon had sent him after they worked together on The Godfather. It was typed and perfectly composed. Bobby was more proud of that letter than his Oscar. Marlon was the actor he looked up to. I had ridden across country to attend Rolling Thunder with New York Myke and I so enjoyed being with Bobby. He was the actor I looked up to. His ability to find the truth of a scene was something special. Over the years I would call Bobby and we’d talk movies and barbecue. He loved barbecue and I’d always let him know when I was having it in Lockhart, Texas. Smitty’s or Kreuz or Blacks… which one was best. I will miss Bobby. I will always be proud that I got to play his son. Rest in peace brother.

Robert Duvall once said his finest moment as an actor came in Lonesome Dove, when Gus McRae watched Robert Urich kick the horse to hang himself. If you watched that film, you’ll never forget Duvall’s reaction.

Just brought the dogs back in & picked up my phone & saw that Robert Duvall passed away. It’s a punch to the gut.💔 Thank you old friend for giving us the greatest Western ever made & possibly the greatest western character of all time in Captain Augustus McCrae in Lonesome Dove. Feel like I lost my father. R.I.P. Gus. R.I.P. Robert. What a sad day. You will be missed. 💔😭

I'll be watching Open Range in honor of Robert Duvall today. Boss Spearman is the most John Ford-like character in a non-John Ford film. But Duvall was never just a stock character actor. His presence was enough to elevate a film. "Cows are one thing, but one man telling another man where he can go in this country is something else."
