@DOC323123 Fatigue. 1 day off and have to UFC fight dort and Caruso every possession catching up to him. His efficiency has plummeted with each game.

@RichStapless JJ overreacted not playing laravia and Hayes in this game. The team isn't deep enough for that. Same as last year when he played the starting 5 24 straight mins vs Minny. With 1 day in between games, you are sending these boys to the slaughter.

It's really a shame that LaRavia started the year as a solid player for us and now he's lost trust with the coaching staff as it looks like he's never played a game of basketball before. We really needed an all hands on deck effort with no Luka.

@mcten Refs really need to start calling illegal screens on ihart. Lakers got lucky it was a turnover, but it's insane how much he gets away with on those screens.

Lakers take a 51-47 lead on an Austin Reaves fastbreak dunk. After starting the game 0-for-5, Reaves is up to 9 pts and 7 ast. Timeout OKC.

@TrevorLane I've been pleading since game 1 - don't switch the Ajay Mitchell pick n roll. It took them until the end of the half to finally double him on that play. You stop him, you have a chance.

Excellent 2nd quarter from the Lakers to take the lead going into halftime. Executed, moved the ball, Smart/LeBron/Reaves all initiating, and making the extra effort on defense. Had to fight through a….creative…whistle as well. Lakers fans, how are we feeling?

@mcten Ajay Mitchell destroyed them when SGA sat. Lakers need to show him the same respect they showed Sheppard in Rd 1. They have no one to guard him 1-on-1 . You win those mins by forcing Ajay to give the ball up.

JJ Redick says the tape from Game 1 showed that the Lakers’ defense “was good with some of the Shai [Gilgeous-Alexander] coverages.” What wasn’t good? “We have to be better when [SGA’s] not on the floor … they were plus-nine in those minutes. We’ve got to at least be even”

@LakersEmpire 66% of his playoffs games have been bad. It doesn't mean he shouldn't get paid, but this is who he is at this point. He had good games vs Memphis and Warriors in 2023, but for the most part, this is who he is in the playoffs.

I’ve never complained about Austin Reaves like today. Always defended him but today was so bad.

@AnthonyIrwinLA Rui only took 10 FGA per game in the 1st 2 games, then udoka made the adjustment in game 3. Rui had 16 in the 1st quarter of game 3, but the goal was always to bait the Lakers into mismatch hunting.

Issue here is force feeding Rui takes the ball out of LeBron/Austin’s hands. Coaches will often put sacrificial lambs on tougher matchups hoping teams take the bait and ditch their system. That’s what Ime is doing with Reed (who has also been quite good defensively).
Schmitt@Droidus_Maximus

@AnthonyIrwinLA Rui has to be able to score one on one against Reed. There’s no reason every action doesn’t involve getting Reed on an advantageous matchup

@mcten We got ourselves a series. This team hasn't played with much focus since halftime of game 3. We are about to see what they are made of in game 6. Mess around and you're going to make the wrong kind of history.

@LakersEmpire I've been saying since second half of game 3 - too much Marcus smart. Make or miss, his usage rate on offense is way too high.

@RajChipalu That 2020 team not sweeping anyone doesn't feel right. Would have probably swept Portland in a regular playoff setting.

@Rome_Beast Net rtg discussion from January opened the door for that. I personally think Windhorst going on tv and arguing that LA is better without LeBron hurt Luka's mvp case more than people realize. No, LA isn't better without Luka. And they aren't better without LeBron either.

the narratives i’ve seen ppl get off to divide this fanbase even further than it already is underdogs up 2-0 why can’t it just end there and be a feel good story ? why is it always added garbage to push an agenda can never just enjoy the lakers success

@TrevorLane That was expected. I'd assume Houston expands their rotation for their home games while LA shrinks theirs. I'd expect JJ to play bron, smart, Kennard, rui at least 40 mins each in one (or both) games.

@Lakersallthewa3 Lakers fans gotta stop the defeatist mentality. I saw another tweet saying " Austin comes back for game 5 with series tied 2-2". I'm like why would you hope the series is tied after 4 games?. The playoffs are not a guarantee. It's a privilege to be here.

@TheLakersReview You will probably see Smith in game 3. Easier to play the worse of the two in front of the home crowd. The back end of the rotation will probably be a little different on the road.

Victor Wembanyama on if he feels the weight of Tim Duncan and David Robinson as Spurs franchise legends: "I wouldn't say, weight, no, I would say, I feel safe. It feels like if you trip, you know there's a lot of hands that are ready to catch you."
