Aisha Achimugu: Court Grants Final Forfeiture of N4.6b Jewelries, N4.3b Exotic Cars, $50, 000 , N30, 000,000 to Government
A Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court sitting in Apo, Abuja, has granted a final forfeiture order of properties linked to a business woman, Ms Aisha Achimugu to the federal government.
The properties include jewelries worth N4,645,170, 294.9 billion (Fourt Billion, Six Hundred and Forty-Five Million, One Hundred and Seventy Thousand, Two Hundred and Ninety-Four Naira, Nine Kobo) eleven exotic cars worth N4.293,000, 000 (Four Billion, Two Hundred and Ninety-Three Million Naira), $50, 000( Fifty Thousand United States Dollars) and N30, 000,000 (Thirty Million Naira) cash.
Justice Jude Onwugbuzie granted the order on Thursday, July 16 2026 in a judgment on the application for final forfeiture of the properties by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The assets were found by the EFCC as proceeds of unlawful activities. Investigations by the Commission followed its receipt of financial intelligence showing huge inflows and outflows from over 136 ( One hundred and Thirty six) bank accounts linked to Aisha Achimogu which ran into billions of naira and millions of dollars. The investigation carried out showed that the huge funds that passed through the companies operated by her were not disclosed as revenue of the companies in their financial statements filed at the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS).
In the course of investigation, the Commission executed searches at the residence of Achimugu where the assets forfeited were recovered. While being interrogated, she was given Assets Declaration Form which she filled but did not disclose the recovered assets as her properties. The finding by the EFCC showed that the huge funds received into accounts linked to her were not from her legitimate business activities and that the recovered assets were not from lawful sources
Following the outcome of the investigation, the EFCC through its legal team, led by Ekele Iheanacho SAN, filed an application for an interim order forfeiting the properties to the Federal Government of Nigeria in line with Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud and other related offences Act.
The matter came up before Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie and on April, 23, 2026, the court granted the application and directed the EFCC to publish the said order in national dailies for any person in possession or interested in the assets to show cause within 14 days why the final forfeiture order should not be granted
EFCC complied with the order of the court and published the order. EFCC further filed a motion for final forfeiture of the properties. Achimugu through her legal team filed affidavits to show cause why the assets should not be forfeited as well as a motion to set aside the interim order. This was further opposed by the EFCC through a counter affidavit. The court took arguments from parties represented by the counsel and adjourned to July 16, 2026 for judgment.
On Thursday, the court delivered judgment and granted a final order forfeiting the assets to the federal government of Nigeria. The court found that Achimugu did not dislodge the evidence led by the EFCC and also failed to discharge the burden of showing that the assets were from lawful origins.

VIDEO: Hundreds of residents from riverine communities in Awoye, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, staged a peaceful protest, calling on the Federal Government to decentralise pipeline surveillance contracts across the Niger Delta.
The protesters argued that host communities should be directly involved in protecting oil facilities within their territories instead of concentrating surveillance responsibilities under Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd. I was hearing some sound and the sound doesn't sound like any operational one.
Because the volume of fire even before getting close was one hell of a fire.
And I noticed something crazy, most of our best hands, like men you can always count on no matter the situation.
They all went down, it was after the operation I noticed they were all shot in the head.
How can majority of our Gunners shot in the head? So many thoughts running through my head.
At that point I knew capturing that place wil be a very very difficult task.
But why withdraw when we are almost capturing the location?
It was after pulling out , they told us we should proceed to Damasak, that the Chadians are there they captured the location.
Like I know the Chadians very well and what they are capable of ...

The movement started, few KM to Damasak as usual, you should expect the unexpected.

That duel lasted for almost 6 hours with the help of Air support later, we entered Alagarno.
What we saw inside the so called Terrorists Caliphate.

Even the prisoners don't drink sachet water, everything there is bottle water and we are busy fetching hit water out it inside Shekau fridge (local pot) to drink.

At a pint I jumped down from my Gun, brought out my dagger and cut a very large part, told it back to my position for proper diet.

POV: We Nigerians need to do better, especially when our family members abroad entrust us with their hard-earned money.
I don't understand why a 70-year-old woman based in the USA should send her life savings home to build her retirement house, only for a so-called engineer or supervisor to deliver a building like this.
If not for the person who came to supply the roofing woodwork, no one would have discovered the serious structural issues in the building. This could have become a death trap.
This is really sad. People work too hard for their money to be treated this way.
We must value integrity, professionalism, and accountability.

I've been thinking about this almost every day.
What would it actually take to ensure every single child in the South East is in school?
I don't mean reducing the number of out-of-school children.
I mean ZERO.
I'm setting myself a target:
Zero out-of-school children in the South East within the next 24 months.
And within 4 years, I want us to drive illiteracy as close to zero as possible.
I know it sounds ambitious.
There are children out of school because of poverty. Some because of culture. Some because of religion. Some because they have to work. Others because there are barriers we've not even identified yet.
But I genuinely believe this is a problem we can solve if we stop treating it as someone else's responsibility.
So I'm asking for your help.
If you had to achieve this, what would you do?
I want practical ideas. Bold ideas. Crazy ideas. Lessons from other countries. Community-based solutions. Technology. Policy. Anything.
I'll read every suggestion.
If we can solve this in the South East, we'll create a blueprint that the rest of Nigeria and maybe even Africa can learn from.

I'm deeply disappointed in your @lirs_govng team hounding Selar in the name of claiming creator royalty taxes. I turn 30 in Oct and I've spent the last 10 years building Selar, so this is what the youth mean by policies being created to crush growing businesses. We are the pioneering and largest creator company in Nigeria (Africa actually), and instead of being supported by the government, the LIRS team is keen on trying to scapegoat us to set a precident.
Beyond the huge numbers seen in the headlines, we are still a young company just trying to make our mark for the creator economy in a country where we've never been supported once, we're literally a bootstrapped company. In 2025 alone, we've fulfilled our tax obligation in almost 9 figures and we've never missed out on any of our tax obligation over the years. You can check the records.
We are a software company, we make our ecommerce software available to our thousands of creators in not just Nigeria but 13 other African countries and for that, we earn a small commission of 4%, most of which goes to our payment provider. This is the same business as shopify, teachable, e.t.c There is no reason LIRS is hounding us for a backdated 5% royalty fee on all sales when we've clearly explained our line of business to them and shared everything to prove we are not a royalty based business.
What they're asking us to do is raise our pricing to extort these funds from our creators which is odd considering our creators still pay taxes on their income. No creator company in the world charges as high as even 5%.
Also, less payment gateway charges we get 1-3% max, so where do we pay backdated 5% fees from?
The government would have to decide if it wants the Nigerian creative economy to grow or not.
This conversation is important to me because we pioneered this industry of monetizing digital products online in Nigeria and today we host over 400k creators selling using our platform.
This is an opportunity for the government to show it's committment to making Nigeria work for young Nigerians especially in the creator economy.
Time and money we should be spending investing into our business and it's growth for the GDP of this nation is being spent in long back and forth.
We can't catch up with the west if this is what we're facing at home. Above everything else, disputes like this are distracting from the real work.
If anything, for all our CSR contributions to the education system in the country with our Smart Hustle Anti fraud initiative and our other efforts, we should be getting tax rebates, but we're not even asking for anything but to be left alone to build our business.

The firm assigned five of its best engineers to the project. They were:
• Engr. Nelson Onyemeh — Lead Consultant/CEO of NELAN Consultants, from Ihiala, Anambra State.
• Engr. Ernest Edeani — From Nkanu, Enugu State.
• Engr. Ikechukwu Ejiofor — From Umunya, Anambra State.
• Engr. Samuel Aneke — From Nkanu, Enugu State.
• Engr. Stanley Nwazulum — From Amawbia, Anambra State.
During the course of the project, serious tensions reportedly arose between NELAN and the Umahi administration over project control and payments. According to the families of the five engineers, the Umahi government allegedly wanted NELAN to "take a back seat" so the state could exercise direct control, issue payment certificates, and give instructions to contractors.
The then-Governor Dave Umahi reportedly wanted NELAN to sign or approve certificates of satisfactory completion for work supervised or executed by other engineers and contractors. NELAN allegedly refused, arguing that doing so would violate the AfDB contract terms, breach its professional obligations, and risk the firm, and possibly the project—being blacklisted by the AfDB.
On November 3, 2021, the five engineers left Enugu for Ebonyi State in an official Toyota Hilux (registration number ERR 001 EB) for site supervision. They never returned, and, to this day, neither they nor their remains have been found.

My heart is shattered beyond words
Our little brother, 13-year-old David Raymond, has gone home to be with the Lord after fighting for his life for 18 painful days
David was not a soldier
He was not a criminal
He was only a child whose only "offense" was being born into a Christian family in Plateau State
On that dark night in Kawel village, Bokkos LGA, terrorists stormed his home while the family slept
His father, Raymond Maichibi, stood between death and his son, hoping to save him with his own body, but he was shot and killed
His mother, Nanlop Raymond, hid inside the bedroom, praying for mercy, but the bullets found her too
David tried to escape, but an AK-47 bullet ripped through his back and stomach, leaving his intestines exposed
As doctors struggled day and night to save this innocent child, his parents were already lying in a mass grave alongside 20 other Christians murdered simply because of their faith
The family could not bring themselves to tell David that he was now an orphan
They hoped he would recover first
But today, that painful secret no longer matters
David has gone to join his father and mother in eternity
Before he died, his trembling voice still echoed from his hospital bed

My beloved brethren, this is Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo. My heart is heavy. My eyes are filled with tears. Since hearing the story of little David Raymond, I have struggled to find the words. How can a 13-year-old child carry such unbearable pain? How can a boy wake up one morning and discover that the world he knew has disappeared? David lies on a hospital bed today, fighting for his life after a bullet ripped through his back and stomach, leaving him in unbearable pain. While doctors fought through the night to save his life, the bodies of his father, Raymond Maichibi, and his mother, Nanlop Raymond, were lowered into a mass grave alongside many other innocent people from their community. The most heartbreaking part is that David has not yet been told that his parents are gone forever. His loved ones cannot find the strength to tell him that he is now an orphan. Imagine the moment when that young boy opens his eyes, asking, "Where is my father? Where is my mother?" knowing that no one has the courage to answer him. David recalled that armed men entered their home in the darkness of the night. His father stood between death and his son. Like every loving father, he tried to protect his child with his own life. He was shot. His mother hid in fear, praying that somehow she would survive, but she too was killed. David tried to escape, but a bullet struck him from behind. What kind of pain is this? What kind of world allows children to carry wounds that no child should ever know? Our Lord Jesus Christ said in 16:33, "In this world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." Today, I ask the Church across the world not to grow weary. We cannot become silent while our brothers and sisters continue to suffer. We cannot close our eyes while innocent children are left without fathers, without mothers, without homes, and without hope. The Word of God tells us in 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." David may have lost his earthly parents, but I pray that the God who calls Himself the Father of the fatherless will surround him with His unfailing love. May the Lord heal every wound in his body and every scar in his heart. Brethren, please remember David in your prayers. Pray for his surviving siblings. Pray for every grieving family. Pray for every widow. Pray for every orphan. Pray for every community living in fear. And as long as God gives me breath, I will continue to speak. They may say I speak too much, but how can I keep quiet when children are burying their parents? How can I remain silent when families are wiped away overnight? As the Lord declares in 31:8–9, "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves... defend the rights of the poor and needy." May God comfort every broken heart. May He strengthen the weak. May He heal David Raymond completely. May He bring justice, peace, and hope to every suffering family. In Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

VIRAL VIDEO OF TORTURE BY COMMUNITY LEADER IN EMEVOR, ISOKO NORTH LGA: POLICE ARREST THREE SUSPECTS, ARRAIGN THEM IN COURT
The Delta State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, has arrested and arraigned three suspects in connection with the viral video showing the alleged torture of a resident by a community leader and members of a local vigilante group in Emevor Community, Isoko North Local Government Area.
The incident, which was captured in a video widely circulated on social media, immediately drew the attention of the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, who directed the Area Commander, Ozoro Area Command, to conduct a swift and discreet investigation. The investigation, which was further reinforced by a petition from concerned human rights activists, established that on 5 July 2026 at about 0815hrs, the suspects, acting in concert with others now at large, unlawfully apprehended the victim and took him to a hotel in Emevor Community, where he was allegedly subjected to severe humiliation, physically assaulted, inflicted with bodily injuries, and allegedly threatened with death.
Upon the conclusion of investigations, the police arrested Lucky Okeremu (48), Chairman of Emevor Community, Okiemute Oyibo (46), and Karo Akamakusi (45). The suspects have since been arraigned before a competent court on charges of conspiracy to commit felony, assault occasioning harm, conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace, and threatening the life of the victim, contrary to Sections 516, 355, 249(e), and 86 respectively of the Criminal Code Law, Cap. C21, Vol. I, Laws of Delta State of Nigeria, 2006. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects still at large.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniy, psc, acipm, mnips, reiterated that while the command recognises the role of community leaders and vigilante groups in supporting security efforts, no individual or group has the authority to assault, torture, intimidate, or subject any person to unlawful punishment. He warned that anyone who takes the law into their own hands will be prosecuted, and urged vigilante groups to always hand over suspects to the police for lawful investigation and prosecution in accordance with the law.

PRESIDENT TINUBU EXPRESSES JOY OVER THE RESCUE OF ORIIRE ABDUCTED CHILDREN AND TEACHERS, COMMENDS SECURITY AGENCIES
President Bola Tinubu has expressed profound joy at the successful rescue of the children and teachers from Oriire community in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, by the security forces.
President Tinubu praised the heroic efforts of the security agencies, especially the military, the DSS and the police, for working round the clock in the last 56 days to secure the release of the abducted children and their teachers without any collateral damage and for arresting eight of the abductors and neutralising others.
President Tinubu regretted the anguish that the children and their teachers, as well as members of their families and the entire nation, have experienced since the sad occurrence.
For cooperating with the Federal Government in all rescue efforts, President Tinubu commended the Oyo State Government and charged it to ensure adequate security around schools across the state.
"I am profoundly happy that our security forces successfully rescued the abducted pupils and teachers from Orire, Ogbomoso in Oyo State today after a military, police and intelligence-driven operation that neutralised some of the terrorists that perpetrated the evil act and the arrest of eight of them.
"This successful military operation has ended the siege and standoff of over 50 days and has brought relief to the entire nation and the affected families in particular. On behalf of the country, I express my gratitude to the officers and men of our armed forces, the intelligence agencies and the police for the safe rescue of the children and their teachers.
"My government will get justice for these children and their teachers and for the family of Mr Oyedokun, who the terrorists gruesomely murdered.
"I must commend the government of Oyo State for working cooperatively with us in bringing this unfortunate incident to a successful end," the President said.
President Tinubu has also directed that the emergency agencies work with the Oyo State Government to provide all necessary medical and relief support to the children and the teachers.

They have saved prompts.
They have joined AI groups.
They have tried ChatGPT.
They have seen people talk about making money with AI.
But they are still asking one question:
“Where do I start?”
And that question is valid.
Because AI is now too wide.
Every day, there is a new tool.
Every day, there is a new trend.
Every day, somebody is saying, “This is the next big thing.”
So beginners jump from tool to tool.
One day, they are learning image generation.
The next day, they are learning automation.
The next day, they are watching videos about AI agents.
The next day, they are trying to create faceless YouTube videos.
But after all that movement, there is still no income.
Why?
Because activity is not strategy.
Learning random AI tools is not the same thing as building an AI income skill.
A better way to start is this:
Pick one problem.
Pick one audience.
Pick one AI skill.
Create one simple result.
Then offer that result to people who need it.
For example:
Small businesses need flyers.
Creators need captions and videos
Online vendors need product UGC videos.
Crypto brands need educational content.
Schools need social media designs.
Churches need event posters.
Real estate agents need property captions, video scripts and videos for their work.
That is where you start.
Not by learning everything.
But by becoming useful with one thing.
