Happy April Fools' Day from Croydon Labour, who this week: 🥀Defended Tony Newman & Simon Hall; 🥀Said there were no lessons to be learned from the damning Penn Report; 🥀Argued that the Fairfield Halls fraud report - which we're sending to the police - was a waste of time.

Officers have brought forward councillor allowance increases in the normal way. I do not think it is appropriate to raise councillor allowances at this time and I and the @CroydonTories Group will vote against any proposed increases.

The irony. Croydon Labour councillors attempting to stop Conservative councillors challenging bullying in Labour ranks by silencing the opposition at tonight's Full Council. You couldn't make it up! We will not be bullied. We will not be silenced.

Labour councillors being untruthful about Governance Review Panel discussions, saying Conservatives never stated they wanted a democratically elected mayor when in reality, in the very first meeting, Labour ruled out the possibility that it could even be discussed. #croydonlive

58,000 Croydon residents yesterday voted by a landslide 80%-20% to reject the failed Labour Leader & instead directly elect an Executive Mayor. Unsurprising given Labour bankrupted Croydon, presided over the collapse of the Westfield project & passed appalling planning consents
