We, members and leaders of the ADC, and other well-meaning Nigerians, lovers of democracy, are saying that our democracy must not be killed. We say NO to a one-party system and for that today we’re calling out Nigerians who believe in unity, peace, and security of our country to join us as we defend democracy in our land. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

If famed Nigerian human rights lawyer Femi Falana accuses Nigeria's ruling APC Party of manipulating the judiciary to try and bring about a one-party state by destroying the opposition, then the world should pay attention. Elections coming in months. theafricareport.com/413910/nigeria…

You weird bigots 🤦🏾‍♂️. Your guy is the president, he’s destroyed the country. Your people hold the juiciest positions in government; when a Yoruba person leaves a post, another Yoruba person replaces him. Why do you still talk like you’re marginalized and disadvantaged? What do you want?

When I returned to UK from my visit to Nigeria, I went for my routine blood donation and they refused to take my blood because of the fear of malaria from my trip to 9ja. I was told that I had to spend 3 to 4 months in the UK first before my blood can be assessed to determine if there is any trace of malaria in my blood. The Brits fear malaria more than Covid.
Oversabi Nurse 👩‍⚕️🇬🇧@AsidanyaMiracle

By the way, malaria is a notifiable disease in the UK 🇬🇧. This was another shock.

BREAKING: Former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Africa Raises Alarm Over Tinubu and @inecnigeria embattled chairman Prof Amupitan plot to undermine democracy in Nigeria. Nigeria’s deepening democratic crisis has now drawn international attention, as former United States Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Tibor Nagy, openly sounded the alarm over what he described as a dangerous assault on opposition politics in Nigeria. Reacting to concerns raised by respected human rights lawyer Femi Falana, Tibor Nagy warned that if allegations of judicial manipulation aimed at crippling the opposition and forcing a one-party state are true, then the world must not look away. His intervention is yet another sign that the troubling direction of Nigeria’s democracy is no longer a domestic concern alone. It is becoming a global red flag. For ADC, this is a moment that confirms what millions of Nigerians already fear: that state institutions are being pushed beyond neutrality and democracy itself is being placed under siege. When credible international voices begin to echo what citizens at home have long been saying, it shows how serious the situation has become. Nigeria cannot afford democratic backsliding. The opposition must not be silenced. The courts must not be weaponised. The will of the people must not be crushed by political desperation. The world is watching. Nigerians are watching. And history is watching. Democracy must be defended. Nigeria must not be reduced to a one-party state.

“NO BROMATE!” Have you ever stopped to wonder why those words are boldly written on most bread nylons in Nigeria? Today, let’s talk about it. Potassium bromate (KBrO₃) was once a common ingredient in bread-making. Bakers used it because it helped dough rise faster, made bread softer, and gave loaves that attractive, fluffy look. But there was a serious problem, a dangerous one. When bread isn’t baked at the right temperature or for long enough, bromate may not fully break down. That means traces of it remain in the bread we eat. Over time, it can accumulate in the body. Scientific studies revealed that bromate is carcinogenic, it can cause cancer and also damage the kidneys. For years, Nigerians unknowingly consumed bread containing this harmful substance. It was widespread because it was cheap and effective. Then, everything changed. A woman decided it was time to put a stop to it. Her name was Professor Dora Nkem Akunyili, who served as Director-General of NAFDAC from 2001 to 2008. When she assumed office, Nigeria’s food and drug system was in chaos — fake products, unsafe additives, and weak regulation dominated the market. But Dora Akunyili was not one to ignore such dangers. She launched investigations, sending officials to bakeries across the country to secretly collect bread samples. The findings were alarming. A large portion of bread in circulation contained unsafe levels of bromate. That was all she needed to act. In 2002, under her leadership, NAFDAC officially banned the use of potassium bromate in bread production across Nigeria. But she didn’t stop at policy. She took the fight to the public — speaking on air, addressing the press, and openly naming offenders. She warned Nigerians that the very bread many families relied on daily could be harming their health. The resistance was fierce. Many bakers pushed back. But she stood her ground. NAFDAC carried out raids, shut down non-compliant bakeries, and educated the public. Gradually, things began to change. Bakers adopted safer alternatives like ascorbic acid (vitamin C), and the label “NO BROMATE” became a symbol of safety and accountability. Today, many people don’t realize the impact of that decision. Dora Akunyili was more than a regulator, she was a defender of public health. Her courage and integrity forced an entire industry to choose human life over profit. So, the next time you pick up a loaf of bread and see “NO BROMATE” on the nylon, take a moment to remember the woman behind it. Her name is Dora Akunyili. She didn’t just enforce a policy. She saved a generation.

Iran has just done Nigeria and Africa a massive favour BTW. By removing any shred of residual legitimacy left on the American empire's naked body, it has made it much harder to sell that "invade Nigeria to 'protect the Christians' " bullshit. Nobody is ever going to buy the narrative that the guy who was just threatening to "end an entire civilisation" by committing the greatest war crime in human history against millions of civilians, is trying to save any goddamn Christian in Darkest Africa. That agenda is now dead and can now rest in peace. Closing the Strait of Hormuz for nearly 6 weeks has also had the fortunate unintended consequence of forcing African countries to seek closer energy cooperation with each other. The number of African supply deals signed by the Dangote refinery over the past month would have taken years to achieve without Iran's intervention. Allowing the war to end now and opening the Strait of Hormuz so that US tankers can pass through makes Nigerian oil less critical to the Star Spangled Motherfuckers, which makes a military invasion to 'protect Christians' all the less likely. Every Nigerian who knows their arse from their elbow needs to visit their local Iranian embassy today to say thank you.
