Talked with two separate CJ practitioners yesterday who were excited to tell me they were paying academics big $$ to do impact evaluations for them. 💔 Practitioners: You should *never* pay academics to do research. Our currency is publications, so we'll work for data.

I’m seeing lots of ads from faculty in top/rich Econ departments this week hiring full-time pre-docs. You sure you all can’t just admit these talented students into your PHD programs, let them train and coauthor with you, and get on with their adult/professional lives? 🤷‍♀️
