@atharia_ Andromeda is a fun, dare I say good sci-fi game, while concurrently being a bad Mass Effect game. That's been my take on it for quite a while.

So Mass Effect Andromeda is...chill? I'm about 10 hours in and dare I say *enjoying* it?? Not vibing with the story and companions still but I'm liking the sprawling worlds. The happy vibes might fade in 10 more hours but for now it's...fun??

@godfree I agree with this. It all amounts to risk aversion. Creating a game that will fail is too risky for most studios now. Claire Obscure is the exception where CoD, God of War, Ghost ot Yotei are the rule. It ultimately results in most games feeling the same.

@kalaelizabeth I found EA's reticence for Remasters hilariously ironic given how their sports franchises have been annual remakes for 3 whole decades. Once the see how much money it can print, they'll consider it again. The different engines make a DA remaster a problem. Higher dev costs.

@kalaelizabeth You have to remember, at the time, live service introduced an entirely new revenue stream that every publisher wanted. It was extremely alluring to shareholders and greedy CEOs. It's a shame Bioware got mixed up in that. I always said MS should have bought BW instead.

I still can't get over how stupid EA is when it came to Dragon Age. Inqusition was a major success, despite it's multi-player. Yet these corporate dumbasses decided to not follow their up their GotY with more of that, but instead change it to live service/multi-player? Stupid.

Nearly drove straight into this last night on the way home from vacation. Storms got so bad we were forced to pull over on the highway, then off the next exit to shelter. We stopped right outside of the tornados path. If we’d kept going or got there earlier, could have been bad.

@patriot_viper In all honesty, I'm still rocking a Zen 3 Ryzen 5600X. An upgrade to a 7700X or 9700X with DDR-5 6000 mHz RAM and a B650 or B670 would do wonders. I can stretch the life of my RTX 3070Ti a little longer with that set up.
