I don’t use AI in my workflow. It just feels numb to me, like I didn’t actually make anything. I started designing pretty young simply because I liked creating things. I enjoyed the process. I never thought it would turn into a career. With all the hype around AI right now, it feels like people are missing the point of human creation. For a lot of us this isn’t just a job. It’s also a hobby, sometimes even a form of therapy. AI mostly helps companies make more money and gain more power. They trained their models on work taken from everyone and call it technological progress. And the amount of slop flooding every platform is ridiculous. The irony is that people defending it today might also lose their jobs if we don’t keep these companies in check. The recent news about OpenAi is a good example. Digital revolution? To me it feels more like the devaluation of creativity and human-made work.

This is nuts; Elevenlabs nailed it. Voice but especially latency. After reading Matt Shumer's article, it's become even clearer to me what he means when he says that AI will soon encompass all other areas as well. Who needs call center agents when you have such a human-like AI?

@kimmonismus Obviously the work is amazing by elevenlabs, but the forced empathy is still unhuman (really just a prompting issue). Wouldn't you rather have an agent that is business-focused: acknowledges the issue and focuses on efficiency and speed in getting it resolved?

Contrarian take, I think Apple is going to figure out Apple Intelligence via better embedded edge models that software developers can use to build AI-first iOS and macOS apps without needing to bundle GBs of a LLM in the binary.
