Dropping my Kid sis off at school before work has honestly made me feel like a dad. Today I called her when she was walking towards the school gate just to wave her goodbye. I hope Fatherhood feels this great.

@JesseHance3 It doesn't make sense because modalism which is what you just explained doesn't make sense. Finally Christians don't believe this.

@theerealtao I do think Jesus was actually a real person. Where’d they get the name from? Jesus being the Son and The Father? That’s not making sense, you can’t be your son and father at the same time.

I don't know but I just feel certain that even if a God exists, it's definitely not the Bible God.

I’m not a ”women should be pastors too!” person, but I would never say God doesn’t call women to teach, preach, or lead. He does, several times in scripture, call women into roles of leadership, speaking, teaching. In both Old and New Testament. Why can we not have a more measured understanding of these things? This sort of silliness is so tiresome and antiquated.

God never calls you to do something He's explicitly commanded you not to do. Pretty simple really.

@Jamesiff7 The illusion of hierarchy that comes with titles breeds contempt. “Brother” this, “sister” that is ultimately alright because, literally, we are all brothers & sisters. Even Solomon knew all these things were vanity before Paul the Apostle commented in Gal 3:28 & Col 3:11.

@lastoftheaztecs Exactly, it means nothing I'm the grand scheme of things, as it doesn't add anything to one's salvation, that's why I don't buy the idea of people making it a big deal in this part of the world

I honestly don’t feel comfortable with football club celebrations in churches, even when it’s something as harmless as Arsenal winning. (I’m an arsenal fan). To me, the Church is sacred. Bringing secular passions into a space consecrated for worship and the ministry of Christ doesn’t sit well with me. In the same way, I’m not comfortable when the altar becomes a place for football conversations or banter. Personally, I see it as a form of irreverence toward sacred things. I know some people may see nothing wrong with it, and that’s okay. But for me, there should still be a distinction between what is holy and what is common. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe I’m missing another perspective. What do you think? Let’s discuss with maturity and without attacking anyone personally.

@KangintheNorth @theerealtao Not your opinion. I asked whether you'd regard it as just another “No True Scotsman” argument, to ascertain how you'd view it. However, it seems you've already made up your mind before asking the question, which makes the question somewhat pointless.

How do you explain someone who was once an atheist later becoming a theist?

@KangintheNorth @theerealtao Wouldn't that be your opinion? You can't assert that they didn't critically think about it based on bias. It would be like if a theist became atheist & someone says they haven't thought about it critically. Rather they found compelling evidence, which is different for everyone.

I was an atheist for nearly 30 years. The shift wasn’t some desperate escape or “poor education.” It was the opposite: relentless questioning, stripping everything down, and eventually encountering evidence and experiences I couldn’t honestly dismiss anymore. People change their minds when the data and their lived reality stop fitting the old worldview.

@theerealtao I ask them what their favorite formal argument for Atheism was when they were atheist. It tells me what kind of atheist they were or if there was critical thought involved at all
