Looking to create a web tool for analyzing uploaded data about systems, e.g. comparing output over time or for specific data (e.g. sosreport) then doing further analysis and showing this all in a web interface. Does anyone know anything existing like that I can leverage?

Anyone had a good exp with @FrameworkPuter's warranty? I'm going around in circles. Laptop takes >90s to POST and can't reboot or shutdown. They admitted it's likely hardware, then they say it's out of warranty. I mentioned the ACL and now we're t/shooting the same stuff again.

@developerjack @Uber_Australia In the old days, they used to have fairly strict compliance for this. That seemed to fall away in their fight to keep everyone classed as contractors. Then they would at least easily/always refund, often instantly (saves customer service time!). Now even that seems to not happen.

@MarkCallaghanDB For on-demand instances for a few hours of testing, I have been enjoying Equinix Metal with Spot Instances (especially as they have an instance with real HDDs for Ceph testing). But for a persistent deployment I suspect the price will probably be better at someone like Hetzner.

@timClicks Most manufacturers have an optimised model for at least desktop, surveillance, NAS and "Enterprise". Seems the surveillance range is getting AI for video thrown in. "Intelligently adapts to the scale of your AI environment, supporting up to 64 HD video streams and 32 AI streams."

I'm not saying it's the same thing, but there's something beautifully poetic about the fact that the cost of a 24TB hard drive ($439) is less than a single month's rent for 24TB of storage on AWS S3 ($552). Much of the cloud is like this.

@TylerMKing To be honest, this part is fine. It beats having a pointless installer app. But the Uninstall part is annoying, because often there are files left littered around and no standard way to clean them app. A bunch of third party apps instead.

@developerjack Look at if extras are worth it at all. It’s mostly not unless you’re in the best government rebate because you get the rebate in it. Often better off jamming the money into savings instead.
