I am very sad to hear Katharine, the Duchess of Kent has died. I knew her through the choral world. Later, she was extremely kind to me when I had a young baby. She was lovely: full of grace, dignity and Christian charity. She was a gift to the Royal Family. May she rest in peace

Very sad to hear Sylvia has died. She was such a remarkable woman who changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of young people. She was kind and nurturing to my daughter. And through her agency, she has given Charlotte the most wonderful experiences. Rest in Peace, dear Sylvia.

Young started teaching part-time drama classes in London in 1972 before founding the full-time Sylvia Young Theatre School in 1981.
