@laurakeeley Apparently, the Raleigh police dept policy is that charges are automatic for any person that is a passenger with a driver accused of DWI, but charges are almost always dropped. These seems like a law designed to scare people.criminallawraleigh.com/blog/raleigh-p…

Good luck getting the aiding and abetting charge to stick. You don’t get in the backseat of the car with someone you *know* to be impaired - you give your keys away because you think he’s NOT impaired (mens rea missing for this charge)
