no idea. rams feel like they've turtled.

@BenjaminSolak Ben was a there reason why the Rams don’t try and pull a Mahomes and get into field goal range in 13 seconds with 2 timeouts? Seems like no real downside

@thomasrp93 I liked the 2nd and 2 pass call, but I assumed it meant they would run on 3rd and potentially 4th

Good Jets news: they have scored on six of their last seven drives. 30 points. Bad Jets news: the Bengals have scored on four of their last five drives: 28 points. Just one defensive stop could make this game interesting!

I attended a banquet with various German aristocrats and after a huge meal they decided to play a game of baseball... There were a lot of full counts

@NatalieEgenolf My father was a third generation Philadelphian but he moved to Dallas at a young age, then back to Philly as an adult. He always rooted for the Eagles unless they were playing the Cowboys! Drove me crazy as a kid. Wish he was here to see this

... and instead, with a few noble exceptions, we get "wait, you think our historical narratives can be anything other than absolutely literally true and real? You must be some sort of pomo traitor". It's bizarre. (2/2)

It's really interesting to read historical linguistic work from the 1970s and 1980s because of the level of philosophical sophistication in the argumentation - Lass (1980), Romaine (1982), various works by Coseriu, even Lightfoot. That seems to be largely gone now ... (1/2)

I discover that Claude can translate into good straightforward Latin, with the occasional strange error. Good Latin verse still out of its reach.

given the name Муся (IIUC this is derived from Маруся < Мария), is it expected from Russian phonology that diminutivization would lead to Мушка and not Муска? my guess is yes, due to the underlying palatalization that gets forced into ш when followed by a consonant. true? false?

@haxyr3 How many of these meanings are shared with сидеть? I know that at least "to be imprisoned" is possible

Сесть and its many meanings Basic verbs can be surprisingly tricky. You might think the verb садиться/сесть ("to sit down") is straightforward, but it's anything but simple. Here's a dive into its multiple meanings: 🚌 To board (a bus, train, etc.): Мы сели в автобус - We got on the bus. 🔋 To run out of battery: У телефона села батарейка - My phone's battery is dead. 👕 To shrink: У меня футболка села после стирки - My T-shirt shrunk after washing. 🚔To get imprisoned: Он сел на пять лет - He went to prison for five years. But that's not all! Here are some more uses: 🎤My voice is gone, I can't speak: У меня сел голос, я не могу говорить. 🥕 I am on a diet: Я сел на диету. 📖I started a book - I want to finish it by summer: Я села за книгу - хочу дописать к лету. Which meaning of 'сесть' surprised you the most? #Russian #vocabulary
