In fact, this is the first time that the spouse of ANY world leader has been allowed to take the president's seat on the Security Council. It sends a clear signal to the world that the United States is now little more than a nepotistic, tinpot dictatorship. The truth is that we've had countless brilliant, qualified, thoughtful First Ladies in the past who could have performed this role at the UN. Melania is not one of them. She wants to play-act as the master diplomat, but history will remember her as a spineless coward who enabled the worst abuses of her fascist pedophile husband. El actual gobierno iraní es monstruoso. En la última ola de represión parece que mataron a unas 30.000 personas. El problema es que no tenemos la menor idea de quién puede quedar , si cae el régimen teocrático. La represión naturalmente se ha centrado en la eliminación de toda oposición que podía representar una esperanza. Quedan Pahlavi y su diáspora de fieles, pendientes como caimanes en boca e caño. No se si en Europa la diáspora iraní es diferente a la refugiada en EEUU. Ojalá.

Me llama mi hija y me comenta la situación de tres representantes que tienen en Dubai. Son de Egipto, Filipinas y la India. Están aterrorizadas y no tienen manera de irse porque el espacio aéreo está cerrado. Los Emiratos están llenos de inmigrantes ( ellos prefieren llamarse expatriados) del mundo entero, atraídos por la llamativa prosperidad petrolera. Ahora están simplemente atrapados en la violencia.
