Tobacco use - hard 2 identify any other condition with such a mix of lethality, prevalence, & neglect. Despite NL Gov’s Health Accord ideals, I see no effort 2 move on addressing the leading preventable cause of death & disease & help people quit. We could be doing so much more

Listening to Dr G Taylor at OMSC and her Cochrane Review. Spoiler alert: extremely strong evidence that quitting smoking has same improvement in anxiety and depression as prescribing antidepressants! There is no doubt about this finding. Let’s help them quit! @VOCMOpenline

At OMSC listening to Jane Philpott- We would never accept it if only 78% of our children had access to public schools -the rest can find a way to learn. Why then do we accept this for 1° healthcare? We need govt to legislate accountability @VOCMOpenline

Imperial Tobacco has released a flavoured nicotine pouch. Apparently they want to help smokers quit. Yet they make billions selling cigarettes! At least stop pretending your motives are altruistic. Your cigs kill 50k Canadians a year.
