@JasonWhiteMS I’m concerned how this reduction of taxes coming into the general fund will affect the state agencies that actually run the operations. Hopefully, there are contingencies in place for any shortfalls to agency budgets that are appropriated.

I appreciate the opportunity to address the Mayors and local government leaders who make our Mississippi communities so great. While sharing the intricacies of the Build Up Mississippi Act, I was most enthusiastic to reveal that under HB 1, every municipality will receive more funding under the local option, 1.5% sales tax, than the current diversion. In addition, HB 1 dedicates $100 million to the PERS system, creating a more solvent retirement system that enhances our state's financial stability and overall economic health. I am eager to gain the invaluable support of the @MMLonline in the upcoming days.
