fundamentally, it’s about what will get new audiences to participate and can break into the broader zeitgeist beyond the crypto bubble AI certainly has that potential, but may not be fully relatable in a way which make sense to newer participants meme coins have already had a big run, but could run further (would be more of a trend continuation than shift) one which i think everyone is still underweight on as a possibility is onchain gaming, and how that could nest with a new NFT season which further drives crypto culture relevance we should probably toss in DeFi Renaissance as a possibility, too (and could get traction if boomers drive new waves of interest rather than younger generations) i think those are probably the big ones right now, but very likely one takes off much harder than the others and drives all discussion for the next year

at this point in the cycle, we usually see a big narrative shift which catches people completely off guard something which hits in Q1, hadn’t been running much before, but suddenly becomes ubiquitous in 2017, it was ICOs in 2021, it was was NFTs what will it be in 2025??
