My disappointment is immeasurable. You have characters specifically built for horror who've languished in more or less obscurity unless it's mini's, yet you use the hits AGAIN for a HORROR LINE?!?! Where's the creativity?

@Sorazure15 While Ewing's known more broadly for his worldbuilding, his character work and portrayal of relationships is by far (imo) the best aspect of his writing. Nothing's black and white, there's nuance to everything.

I know matchmaking usually sucks, and most matches will be soul crushing, but I just came out of a match with Randos that might have hooked me on Marathon. We hunted every player. Booby trapped last exfil and finished them at ~5 seconds left. Basically, blood for the blood god.

@bs422 @PaulTassi Idk, I see it this way: Souls games are about overcoming obstacles, rewarding you with satisfaction, loot, and progression. Extraction shooters are Sisyphean. A series of bad runs will strip you of your loot/progression. There is overlap in the reward/rush forsure though.

@leMeatman @PaulTassi First time in Dark Souls that I died with a large stack of souls and failed to recover them, I was absolutely gutted. Genuinely speechless. But then I kept playing it was fine. Critical, formative gaming moment for me, and really helps with a game like this to brush losses off.

Bounce ratio was always one of my top concerns. It is not good to have what appears to be your day one peak just an hour or two after launch

@PaulTassi I just think the bounce ratio will be very, very high. The fact most runs with friends ended in abject failure for them has convinced them it's just not for them. Played on PS5 this time & navigating the loot menus on controller in honkingly bad. I like it, but it needs work.
