I've got the village, resource, and navigation systems moved over to the new world map. It's not looking too bad. Next I'll work on getting 4-5 factions set up, then we can watch the Pact #Ecosystem play out. There's a lot of space to fill up! #gamedev #indiegame #indiegamedev

A combat system doesn't have any weight if nothing happens when you lose. A lot of RPGs cut to a loading scene on death--after all, those games tell the story of an epic hero. In Pact you'll be taken back to a safe area, worse for wear, to plan your next move. #indiedev #gamedev

As the systems in Pact get more complex I'm finally able to just let it run at 5x speed. Today's bug: one faction's growth was super stunted. It turns out their gatherers would pick up a valuable resource and immediately switch to guard duty! Ah, the fun of #indiedev #gamedev

Here's another #optimization video! This time a crane delivers a payload while minimizing how far it swings. It's constrained by the length of the rail, and I had to give it a non-zero initial angle to get any overshooting. It's fast too, the solver only needs 128 ms!

Two weeks ago I presented our article at the IEEE conference on Digital Twins and Parallel Intelligence, and we won the best paper award! The conference was great, and I was impressed with the huge variety of research. I'm looking forward to next year in Orlando!
