Some folks are asking if this hantavirus outbreak can become a pandemic... So, let's look at where we are... From a single infection in late March, this has turned into 173 exposed people in a month and a half since the first exposure. Every single person has the ability to expose this many people, and even if only a small portion of people test positive, if they are not quarantined and continue to expose others when asymptomatic, then we expect the growth to continue. So, without even doing the math, on a six-week cycle of 173 exposed, then this could get out of hand very quickly. And denying that it could is the best way to make that happen.
