@MrGeorgeClarke @andyburnham Also get rid of ludicrous 20% VAT on reuse and refurbishment of existing social housing. New build is 0%. Social housing operators are incentivised by grant system and VAT to decant residents, demolish and new build.

@russellcurtis Delivering social housing as a % of private development doesn’t work. Their focus should be on finding an alternative way to fund social housing. As @peterproperty has said for years, you can’t force private developers to build.

This is just embarrassing. Why 50% and not 75%? Developers have stopped building, so you may as well make the requirement 250% because multiple that by zero and you still end up with the same number of affordable homes. Councils should build council housing—not developers.

We’ve received hundreds of quibbles over the last two weeks - many of which have come up several times and so naturally emerge as frontrunners for us to add to our list of live campaigns... including: 🪧Legacy signage (COVID-era keep your distance signs still up in public places; planning applications left stuck up for months/years after expiry). 🚥Pedestrian crossings (the new "Puffin" ones, where the green man signal flashes on your side of the road, and at waist height, making them easily blocked by a group, and bring some uncertainty while crossing). 🅿️Too many parking apps in local authority car parks (aware of the NPP initiative - curious for info about uptake, functionality, roll-out etc). If anyone has anything to say about these that might help us to consider whether to take them on as fully fledged campaigns, and/or help us craft our approach to tackling them, please do write in the comments / DM / email. And as ever, we're very much always open to new quibble suggestions, so please do keep them coming in the comments, or via our website form.
